Michelle was instrumental in setting up Lamont Black Lawyers together with Patrick Black in 2007. As an experienced bank manager and compliance officer in the financial services industry, Michelle was well placed to manage the practice, which she did for a number of years whilst also studying law.
Michelle was admitted to practice as a solicitor and barrister in 2012 in the High Court of Australia, and the Supreme Courts of New South Wales and South Australia (through mutual recognition). She specialises in the areas of Succession Law (Wills, Trusts, Estate Planning, Asset Protection and Elder Abuse prevention), and Estates Law (Probates, Administration and Contested/Challenged Estates). As a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Michelle receives ongoing professional training and has international connections that enable her to assist clients with overseas assets and beneficiaries.
Michelle is experienced in Family Law and has assisted many victims of domestic violence.
Michelle also advises upon and drafts contracts including business, tenancy and consumer contracts. She can assist anyone setting up a new business venture or changing business structure or direction.
Michelle was a member the Law Society of South Australia’s Children and the Law Committee and the Costs Committee for a number of years, and she continues to provide training to students undertaking the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and newly admitted lawyers with the Law Society of South Australia.

Patrick has 12 years of experience as a lawyer. Initially Principal of Lamont Black Lawyers, Patrick has taken a step back from leading the firm in order to concentrate on developing and promoting an exciting new product. Patrick has developed an App entitled 24 Law – available free to download from App Store or Google Play, it provides users with access to legal assistance 24/7, literally at the touch of the button. Patrick is available for appointments two to three days a week. The areas he specialises in are Criminal Law and Family Law. He recognises that sometimes better outcomes can be achieved using alternative dispute resolution methods – this is particularly so in Family Law. As a qualified and experienced mediator, Patrick possesses exceptional skills in settling matters outside of court, saving you time, money and stress. There are however times when a legal battle is inevitable and Patrick will not hesitate to strenuously argue your case.
In relation to Criminal Law, Patrick can provide you with excellent representation, whether you are at risk of losing your driving licence, are a suspect in a criminal law case, or have been charged with an offence whether minor or serious, he will be there for you, fighting hard to achieve a successful outcome for you. Patrick has a very high success rate in Criminal Law and has successfully represented several clients in some very serious and sensitive matters.
Patrick is admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of South Australia. He has represented clients right across Australia in the Federal Jurisdiction.
